Quadroin, the bionic penguin robot, took on another adventure at the Deutsches Meeresmuseum in Stralsund!

The vehicle is a next-generation AUV with a low-drag bionic design, drawn from decades of studies into highly efficient penguin locomotion: EvoLogics’ founder Dr. Rudolf Bannasch studied Adelie penguins since the 1980s.

The vehicles are designed by EvoLogics together with Prof. Burkard Baschek and his former team at the German Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon. They will carry sensors to monitor ocean eddies as part of the Helmholtz Association’s MOSES initiative.
