Evologics S2C acoustic modems are successfully applied by the underwater communication project of the Singapore based company to build an Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network (UASN).

The S2C acoustic modems perform as network adapters for underwater nodes and provide both the physical layer and the data link layer required for networking applications. Robust instant message delivery and an efficient high-speed point to point communication together with broadcasting capability provide a powerful playground for network protocol development. The customer successfully tried out different networking protocols, evaluating their feasibility for various application scenarios. It reports the reliability features on S2C modems helped achieve excellent packet delivery ratios. Results from the experiment over 4 hop networks showed P2P mode with achievement of 100% packet delivery.

EvoLogics GmbH is a high-tech enterprise specialized in the production of underwater acoustic communication and positioning equipment, robotics and systems integration.
